Description
  • Install and configure Oracle RDBMS software and third-party Database support tools.
  • Development and testing support; creating and testing backups, restores, and related scripts.
  • Database preliminary design, helping programmers and engineers to efficiently utilize the database.
  • Coordination with systems admins to configure hardware and software so that it functions optimally with the RDBMS.
  • Manage multiple database versions from development through production for a diverse internal client base.
  • Collaborate in the design and architecture of complex, distributed, highly transactional database systems, including specification of hardware and network infrastructure requirements.
  • Make recommendations related to performance and efficiency of the data storage.
  • Ensure maximum performance, given budget constraints.
  • Define or implement access controls to the data.
  • Verify or help to verify data integrity.
  • Ensure maximum uptime.
  • Providing on-call support in rotation.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar degree and a minimum of five years of applicable experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Experience with managing high volume Oracle OLTP production environments is required.
  • Must have experience in the following:  Oracle versions 9.x and 10.x on Solaris, Data Store and Warehousing, RDBMS Security Design, Performance Tuning, and Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP).

 


Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience administering databases for complex third-party applications such as PeopleSoft, Siebel, and/or Agile is desirable. 
  • Experience with installation and administration of Oracle EBS desired.
  • Experience with Oracle 10g Grid Control is desirable.
  • High availability RDBMS clustering
  • Software development background desired.
  • Customer-focused, excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive, motivated, with “get it done" approach.
  • Ability to support and work multiple projects at the same time.
