Description
Job Description: Established polyurethane manufacturer seeks professional salesperson for B2B sales of rigid polyurethane construction products and insulation and polyurethane/polyurea based industrial coatings. Key areas of responsibility include specifying company products wherever applicable; educating architects, specifiers, developers, building owners, engineers, and general contractors about the products’ features and benefits over other materials; growing territory sales of materials and selling the advantages of the coated foamed roofing system in lieu of conventional roof systems. Product portfolio includes a variety of polyurethane products and applications, polyurea/polyurethane industrial coatings and acrylic elastomeric coatings. Position requires learning and applying technical industry-specific knowledge of products and application methods as well as success in applying sales techniques to address customer concerns or issues with appropriate products or solutions. This position is a material specifier position and is not responsible for selling material to the end applicator.
This position is responsible for the Southern California market. Compensation is a draw on commission.
Rep must:
· Have experience with roofing, roofing materials and/or roofing products
· Have successfully represented building and/or insulation products in the recent past
· Must have a working knowledge of California Title 24, LEED, Energy Star, lifecycle costing and building modeling for energy compliance
· Be able to master technical specifications and differences of products and application methodologies
· Know the target customer base within the sales territory and have existing professional working relationships with key architects, developers, roofing consultants and building owners
· Be a high performer, self-motivated and possess a high level of energy
· Have a high level of interpersonal skills
· Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Possess a strong work ethic and collaboration skills
Requirements
Performance Expectations:
· Achieve a minimum of $4 million in material sales annually from self-generated specifications
· Growth of material sales within the defined territory for polyurethane products and coatings
· Growth in account base within territory
· New customer acquisition and current customer retention
· Promote products at trade shows and industry conferences
· Correct use of the CRM system for logging data and activities and the quality of that data
· Quality, timeliness and accuracy of forecast data
· Participation in sales meetings and other trainings
· Professional acumen and conduct
Technical Skills Required:
· Computer skills required, including MS Office suite – must be computer and internet savvy
· CRM experience, Salesforce.com preferred
