Director of Social Work

The Director of Social Work reports is responsible for the overall operation and direction of the social work department, staff, programs and services.  Responsibilities include ensuring department's adherence to professional standards necessary for the provision of medical and clinical social work services to patients and families, budget and resource management, ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and monitors standards of practice within the department.   The director works collaboratively with physicians and patient care services to support the organization's clinical care and quality standards. 

 




Requirements Master’s degree in social work with an LCSW in the state of VA are required.  Seven years of social work experience with progressively more responsible related work experience and three to five years in a management role. Requires analytical skills necessary to organize and oversee work of subordinates.  Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills necessary with demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, other disciplines and community agencies and to interpret programs to the public.
