Clinical Specialist / Rating Scales / Interviewer

Our client, a unique solutions provider within the Pharmaceutical industry is seeking a bright, energetic and detail oriented Clinical Specialist to join their growing organization.  The ideal candidate will come from a background in Psychiatric Nursing, Psychology or Social Work and also possess demonstrated experience in a clinical setting.  As a member of a team of clinical interviewers, experience administering, scoring and presenting results of rating scale evaluations and diagnostic interviews is also necessary.  The successful incumbent is part of an expert rating team, conducting assessments as part of a study protocol via videoconference or telephone. Exceptional communication skills, organizational skills and a professional and courteous attitude are also required. Finally, the ideal candidate must operate efficiently and do so according to timelines, budget, operational procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate a patient's current clinical condition and symptom severity.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations.
• Submit accurate data utilizing Good Clinical Practices and identified scoring conventions.
• Manage subject crises with professionalism and clinical expertise.
• Utilize technology required to conduct remote assessments.
• Work with our client’s Project Associates in initiating assessments, and assist them with data query completion and data clarification.
• Follow Sponsor (protocol-specific) requirements and applicable internal SOPs.
• Participate in weekly rater meetings.
• Participate in on-going rater calibration and training.

Requirements:

• RN, BSRN or Master's degree conferred by a clinically-focused program in a mental health discipline such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Psychiatric Nursing.
• 3 years of clinical experience with psychiatric patients.
• 2-3 years administering psychiatric symptom rating scales and/or structured diagnostic interviews. The specific assessment skills required will vary according to project needs.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must be willing to travel as required.
• Knowledge of GCP guidelines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the company.
