Description
The Accounting Manager provides the financial support to the Finance Director-Sales Planning & Analysis, the Sales Management team and to the Sales Operations Finance organization. In this role, the Accounting Manager will support the Sales forecast and estimate process, the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process, budgeting and forecasting, product and customer profitability analysis, price and trade spending analysis and reporting. The Accounting Manager will also conduct financial reporting and analysis to assess and identify the risks and opportunities, develop sales reporting that measures performance which is issues oriented and drives accountability. This position reports to the Finance Director-Sales Planning & Analysis and manages a staff.
- Provide career development and coaching / mentoring to the sales operations finance staff using the PMDP process and any additional training programs.
- Assess risks and opportunities in the business and work with the management team to address and resolve the issues effectively and immediately.
- Effectively drive a productivity mindset to all employees of the business.
- Insure full internal control measures are in place and complied with according to the guidelines of internal and external audit and more specifically, Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Provide adequate reporting, analytical and measurement tools to the business to support the objectives.
- Evaluate current systems and processes and recommend appropriate value-added changes to enhance sales systems tools and information.
- Provide strong leadership and communication to the business.
- Partner with Sales leadership to develop sales plans and forecasts and connect with production planning to minimize inventory levels without sacrificing service levels.
- Conduct customer and mix profitability analysis, review with sales management, recommending appropriate actions to drive growth, maximize benefits of trade spending and improve profitability.
