Description Accountant - Financial Accounting

This is a regular, salaried, 8 hour, day shift position, 1.00 FTE, 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for our full suite of employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, generous 401 (k) plan, commuter programs, and tuition reimbursement.

Salary scale: Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change in pace with the market.

Responsibilities include analyzing, preparing, maintaining, and reconciling financial information in an accurate and timely basis for external and internal customers.

Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, tax returns and audit schedules. Reconciles bank accounts and understands the cash process.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

One year of related accounting experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP.
Must be able to analyze and interpret data for reasonableness, accuracy, consistency and comparability.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and effectively present information.
Good working knowledge and experience with Excel and Word.
Prefer experience with large, sophisticated accounting software systems (i.e., PeopleSoft).
