Job Description:

Coordinates with OMC departments as required to maintain UMCDF in a safe, operable condition. Coordinates plans and production schedules with Operations Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendent, Control Room Supervisor, and Lab Shift Supervisor. Accountable for helping others or providing regular guidance on an as-needed basis. Reviews and studies technical data packages as well as regulations and directives to determine implications on plant operations with respect to safety, environmental compliance and production. Conducts walk-through inspections of the facility on a regular basis to determine the condition, general cleanliness and maintenance/repair of all facilities. Conducts periodic inspections of facilities to review work in progress. Responsible for coordinating the timely and appropriate response by departments of the Plant to requests for both emergency and routine work orders. Provides work orders using the POD as a guideline to the shift maintenance superintendents; coordinates scheduling with maintenance and operations. Responsible for the performance of the Work Control Center during assigned shift, which includes the processing, approving, scheduling of work orders for routine and preventive maintenance, repair and modifications. Contributes to the overall success of the facility by performing any special assignments and all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Assists the Work Control Manager in making decisions, evaluating, formulating, and making suggestions for the changing of departmental policies, procedures, and goals. Meets with various teams and committees as designated by the Work Control Manager, and substitutes for the Work Control Manager as required, at various meetings.

Requirements Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years production planning experience in a demilitarization facility, power plant, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or other heavy industry required.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of computerized maintenance programs (TRAC preferred).

  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications and various other computer applications is required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Must be able to identify all required tools, materials, and support services for work orders.

  • Understanding of hazardous materials, furnaces, and scrubber systems desired.

  • Chemical demilitarization operations and/or maintenance experience desired.

  • Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions required.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively (oral/written) and understand detailed oral/written instructions.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others required.

  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.

  • Rotating shift work required.
