Overview:
The Global Application Tooling Division (GATD) of Tyco Electronics is currently seeking a CNC programmer to join our team. GATD is a worldwide engineering and manufacturing business unit that designs and manufactures application equipment, associated tooling and precision machined products for all markets.
Our CNC Programmers support our tooling business by designing manufacturing processes for machined parts including programming of CNC equipment. This position is located at our Waynesboro, PA facility.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities
- Design the manufacturing process for parts using milling, grinding, turning and EDM technology
- Provide programming support for CNC vertical and horizontal mills, grinders, lathes, and wire EDM equipment.
- Implement process improvements by designing fixtures or identifying cutting tools which improve manufacturing performance
- Support product development by aiding designers develop parts that can be machined efficiently
- Support existing products with CNC program, bill of material and routing maintenance.
- Work with vendors to resolve problems affecting internal manufacturing processes.
- Use quality control principles and practices to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years machine shop experience including CNC programming experience.
- Ability to design, program and validate manufacturing process for machined parts using CNC equipment.
- An understanding of machining, fixture design, and basic metallurgy.
- Demonstrate ability to use ProE, Wildfire 2 or better, and/or AutoCAD.
- Demonstrate ability to use Esprit or ProNC CAM packages.
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft products (word, excel, project, access, power point).
- Six-Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
