Description Summary of Job
 
This position is accountable for the driving revenue growth and gross profit for the Shippers Segment representing $60M of sold equipment annually.  Candidates will need to have a proven track record of Needs Based Solution Marketing or Segment Marketing within large accounts.  Understanding of mailing and shipping operations in manufacturing, distribution, or transportation industries desirable, including strong understanding of US Postal Service, FedEx, UPS carrier industry.  Also, understanding in logistics or supply chain management a plus!
This role encompasses the marketing, retention and profitability of this customer base for not only sold equipment, but also for meter rental, supplies revenue and service revenue.  Focus on cross selling shipping and warehousing solutions. New applications for this segment will be created through this person.  This individual is charged with setting the plans in place to ensure we optimize all mailstream solutions sold by MSM and to create opportunities to sell other products and services offered by other Business Units through the MSM Sales Force.
 
Accountabilities
 
  • Retention of the Segment customer base to plan levels
  • Revenue and profit of this base
  • Management reporting vertical and application growth
  • Setting of metrics to manage portfolio and to manage channels performance
  • Provide sales strategies, product information, competitive products comparisons and pricing discounts when needed.
  • Create and manage price exceptions such that budgeted revenue and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Work with management to develop innovative and competitive marketing strategies that balance customer and sales incentives, improve customer retention and to achieve revenue growth.
  • Integrating marketing channels (Direct Mail, Email Marketing, TM etc) to drive revenue growth
  • Forecast and report key metrics on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Partner with GFS Marketing  (leasing) to develop profitable retention strategies and programs that increase value and size of current lease portfolios.
  • Leverage Contract Compliance to manage variety of customer contracts.
  • Implement The Annual Customer Contact Plan Designed For The Customers Within The Segment While Balance Customer Loyalty And Customer Retention With Total Annual Revenue And Cross Sell Objectives.
  • Partner With Other Business Units And Product Management To Effectively Implement Marketing Strategies And Tactics Such That A Cohesive And Consistent Execution Is Achieved Across Each Organization Or Department.

Scope of Responsibility: Matrix management key management in the channels, supply chain, LOB, marketing and finance, New Business Operations, Contract compliance
 
 
Requirements
  • 5-10 years experience in integrated marketing program development and execution, customer segment management, or brand management.  
  • Understanding of mailing and shipping operations in manufacturing, distribution, or transportation industries desirable
  • Marketing strategy development and execution experience
  • Excellent understanding of finance, economic  analysis and customer research
  • Strong presentations and communications skills
  • Strong analytic and strategic abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of Pitney Bowes business practices and policies helpful.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • MBA preferred
