Shipping Receiving Associate

Description GCS Service is a division of Ecolab, the trusted service leader in the commercial food equipment industry. Nationwide thousands of restaurants, hotels, hospitals and schools rely on GCS Service to provide preventative maintenance, service and repair of commercial refrigeration, cooking and warewashing equipment.

The Shipping/Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipment and receipt of goods within the GCS Distribution Center. Typically focuses in either shipping (pick, pack, ship) or receiving (receive and put away) but may work in either area for effective work load distribution throughout the team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Receive, process and verify incoming material


• Put-away received materials in appropriate identified location


• Pick identified materials for shipment


• Pack materials in a cost-effective and appropriate container


• Ship materials in a cost-effective and timely manner


• Count inventory items


• Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse


• Bar coding/labeling of storage bins and parts


• Use RF Scanning equipment


• Conduct continuous inventories

Basic Qualifications:

• HS diploma or equivalent


• Previous experience in shipping, receiving or inventory control

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize and organize workload


• Self-motivated and reliable


• Ability to communicate effectively with others


• Previous experience with Warehouse Management System, SAP, bar coding and RF scanning equipment preferred


• Ability to count, verify, and record information


• Basic computer skills in a Windows-based environment
