Pharmacy Technician Associate

Description Obtains new prescriptions and prescriptions refill information from customers and retrieves, counts, and measures drugs. Resolves problems related to customer prescription inquiries and responsible for advising Pharmacy Technician on order fulfillment and related duties..The duties of the Technician include but are not limited to: Preparation of prescribed medication orders by filling all orders manually or by using the automated systems.
Accurately and efficiently packing and shipping the completed orders.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Understand and follow departmental policies and maintain current efficiencies required per area trained while maintaining acceptable accuracy levels..

Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent
Math skills.
Computer skills.
Prior mail order automated pharmacy experience preferred.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
Familiar with standard pharmacy practices and procedures.
Excellent attendance and performance record.
Work overtime when needed.
Ability to function in a diverse workplace.
Ability to learn unique job related vocabulary.
Ability to learn and operate new technology.
Must have effective communication skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and as an independent contributor, and multitask effectively
Ability to stand for 8 hours per shift.
Ability to perform repetitive motion with fingers, hands and arms.
Possess hand strength to grasp and twist items continuously.
Ability to work independently.
Work may be in confined areas close to machinery.
Work may be performed in close proximity to others or completely independent depending on tasks assigned.
Ensuring accuracy standards in all areas on the Pharmacy floor.
Must work with a sense of urgency and purpose, and strive toward assisting in meeting the daily, weekly and monthly goals.
Proven ability and desire to work in fast-paced, quality and effectiveness-driven environment.
Maintain a commitment to high standards of professionalism.
