Job Type: Full-time

Specific responsibilities include: 

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the Healthcare dining services department, and provides food services for residents.
• Oversees the food preparation, serving of meals and cooking to ensure meal are prepared per Alterra procedures.
• Maintains appropriate nutritional documentation in resident's medical records.
• Directly supervises employees in the dining services department. 
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; two to four years experience in healthcare food services. 
• Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office and E-mail (MS Outlook or Exchange).
• Basic typing skills essential. 
• A thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation, culinary nutrition, and supervisory management is required.
• Certified Dietary Manager certification required with prior dining services experience in senior housing or long term care.
