Purpose:
Our client, a Fortune 500 retailer, currently has a Temporary Staff Attorney position available at its Corporate headquarters in Roanoke, Virginia.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Law degree (J.D.); bar admission in good standing in any state.
• Three to six years of experience in commercial real estate matters. Experience in commercial real estate law is required.
• Commercial litigation experience helpful.
• Law firm or corporate in-house experience preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, review and comment upon real estate documents for legal sufficiency, internal compliance, industry best practices and favorable terms.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, leases and other agreements with third parties.
• Resolve landlord/tenant disputes. Supervise and strategize with outside counsel regarding real estate closings, landlord/tenant disputes and real estate litigation.
• Review title commitments and surveys and resolve title problems.
• Conduct legal research as needed to ensure legal compliance in contractual agreements.
• Track and manage legal matters and their related expenses. Prepare reports regarding status, progress and costs of matters managed or handled.
