Description
Centene Corporation is a leading multi-line healthcare enterprise that provides managed-care programs and related services to individuals receiving benefits under Medicaid, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
POSITION PURPOSE: Assist the health plan in establishing a presence in the community; educate the members about the managed care services provided via the health plan.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge/Experience: Equivalent to high school education, previous managed care experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds preferred.
Skills/ Competencies: Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to travel locally. Licenses/Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License.
CRITICAL JOB ELEMENTS: Normal office work environment. Dexterity of hands and fingers and little physical effort. Normal mental effort, including timeliness of decision making, memory, and analytical thinking. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications skills. Ability to hear and speak. Must have reliable form of transportation and ability to provide proof of insurance every six months.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES: Community Outreach: Educate members about the managed care services provided via Centene Corporation and associated health plans. Educate and promote preventive care visits to Members.Conduct new Member welcome calls/visits. Identify potential “high risk” Members and assist them in accessing care and services. Attendance: Punctuality and regular attendance required including overtime.
