Description This is an entry level position. We are looking for a Software Testing Analyst to join our eCommerce application development team. The eCommerce application development team is responsible for the development of full suite of products and services used by our customers and carriers to manage their transportation needs. Our applications are considered critical and vital to C.H. Robinson’s worldwide logistics operations and its continued growth and success.

The individual will collaborate with eCommerce application development team to plan and execute quality assurance activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. The individual is primarily responsible for driving the quality of the product while ensuring that the product conforms to both functional and non-functional requirements. Responsibilities include test planning, design and development of test cases, test data development, test execution and documentation of test results. The suite of applications includes both web-based and windows-based applications developed with latest Microsoft technologies.

  • Work with a talented group of technology leaders to design and develop test plans, traceability matrices, test cases and test scripts from requirements, use-cases, design documents and other project documentation
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of product functionality in order to evaluate and ensure product operations during test cycles
  • Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted
  • Identify data requirements and create data
  • Manually execute test cases to validate functionality
  • Report and track defects resulting from the test effort
  • Participate in peer reviews for requirements and technical specifications
  • Participate in peer reviews for test plans and cases
  • Support concurrent projects in an organized manner
  • Provide status and metrics reporting to management and project team members
  • Proactively recommend and support process improvements
  • Provide innovative ideas and solutions in an ever-changing environment

  • 1-2 years experience involving software testing
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience developing applications with Microsoft technologies such as .Net and SQL Server is a plus
  • Exposure to different testing frameworks is a plus
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational (or other) Testing Tools
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry

    Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
