Job Summary:
The Welding & Robotic Engineer will be responsible for all welding and robots in the plant. This includes designing, installing, setting up parameters, training and the preventive maintenance of all welding and robotic cells.
Responsibilities:
Work with new welding and robotic machine designs and fixtures to make them efficient, productive and ergonomic. Training of operators and zone leaders on proper weld setup, quality, maintenance and productivity. Make continuous improvements on current welding and robotic cells to make them more operator friendly, increase productivity and increase quality. Plan and recommend future equipment and facility requirements. Maintain quality and production standards following all ISO 9000 and company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Welding or Robotic Engineering; OR Six years previous experience with production MIG welding and spot welding; AND Three years previous experience with Robotic MIG welding and spot welding Ability to test and inspect welds for defects and to correct problems Have experience with programming and setting up robots and PLC controllers Must understand how to setup welding parameters to ensure proper welding fusion and weld quality Understand the requirements for OSHA in welding and robotic safety Trouble shooting and problem solving skills Effective communication skills as well as good written skills
