Description Southern Division/Mid-South/Delta Area/Tuscaloosa System

Technical Operations

  • Supervise multiple large tasks/projects as well as small, directed projects from preliminary design phases to actual deployment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for prject management. Work independently with little supervison to develop, maintain an supervise detailed project plans, action item tracking and timelines for all assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and other Comcast departments to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Participate in capacity modeling and traffic analysis for network expansion and growth.
  • Perform all levels of support (installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting) for Comcast technology related equipment including but not limited to: IP networks including routers, switches, and hubs; Antenna systems (both terrestrial & TVRO satellite systems); analog moduclation, de-modulation, and signal processing equipment; radio frequency splitter/combiner networks; fiber optic systems including lasers, receivers, and multiplexers; digital video systems including encoding, modulation and multiplexing equipment; addressagle data systems including management computers, modems and consumer terminal devices; video on demand, voice over IP systems (VOIP), hybrid fiber & coax network components including nodes, amplifiers, & passive components.
  • Monitor performance of hardware and software.
  • Project management of future product an service delivery equipment.
  • Assist in the the annual budget strategy and planning sessions.
  • Maintain accurate inventlry of local spare parts for all technology equipment.
  • Ensure proper overall functionality of facilities including environmental systems (HVAC, UPS, fire suppresssion, etc.).
  • Responsible for supporting and/or assisting Tuscaloosa & Gadsden systems and other systems in North Alabama as requested.
  • Travel required to support the other systems.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Requirements Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    Three to Five years experience with demonstrated success working in cable preferred.
    Project Management (planning, implementation/execution)
    Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
    Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and communications across all levels of the organization.
