Department Description: The Field Service Organization (FSO) is an electronic communications department within Motorola, whose purpose is to provide Motorola and customers with technical support and systems management.

The department services and maintains a variety of communications and electronic systems including: Omni Link, Smart Zone, Simulcast, SmartNet, CentraCom, Mobile Data, microwave radio and many other specialized communications equipment. Phoenix FSO business activities are located mainly in the Southwestern United States, and include both external customers and Motorola organizations

Responsibilities/Expectations: - Function as the customer’s primary point of contact within Motorola; coordinate service activities and ensure compliance to contract.
  • Serve as the liaison between the customer and Motorola key work partners to successfully resolve any issues. ( MSS sub contractors, FSO and Motorola SI and Engineering)
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Terms & Conditions of the warranty/service contract are met, including but may not be Limited to: System administration Service, Inventory Management Service, Configuration management Service, Site Management service, User Support Service, Vendor Management, Operational Assessment, and System Planning Service.
  • Regularly review service information and quality reports generated by the system service database to determine an ongoing course of action.
  • May be asked to lead cross-functional or cross-regional projects.
  • Ability to gain cooperation of key work partners and form successful, collaborative business relationships.
  • Effectively present ideas and/or changes to gain buy in; successfully sell ideas or tactical directions.
  • Prepare various reports at regular intervals from system performance metrics provided by Integrated Network Management (NMI).
  • Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement, efficiency gains, and increased customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute recommendations to Organizational cost reduction efforts/managing budgeted costs.
  • Has financial impact only within the scope of immediate activities.
  • Manager a wide variety of activities associated with installing, maintaining and servicing products at customer sites. Ensure that all technical support to customers is provided in a time manner when solving technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products.
  • Frequently interacts with customers and peer groups at management levels
  • Conducts orientation and training of customer personnel in the technical operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Verify start-up, cutover and checkout activities on newly installed systems

    Knowledge Skills: -4+ years of systems support experience
  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot radio communications equipment
  • ASTRO experience
  • leadership experience
  • 50% trave required throughout the state of Wyoming

    Basic Qualifications: -4+ years of systems support experience
  • experience with two way radios OR ASTRO
