Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description Classification: Full-time

Compensation: $73000 to $90000 per year

A large Denver based company is currently looking for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager develops policies and procedures for the General Accounting Department. General Duties: Manages and directs staff activities. Supervises first-line supervisors, accountants and senior accountants. Monitor the reconciliation and control of all general accounting accounts. Ensure all transactions properly recorded and accounted for. Assist Loan Accounting Manager in timely closing of month-end books.
Communicates with upper management (verbal and written) status reports. Keeps upper-level management informed on financial activity of the Company. Assists in researching complicated general accounting issues. Maintains contact with other departments to stay informed of business activity that affects accounting and develops or modifies related policies to support operations. Works with vendors, particularly suppliers and software vendors, to ensure best pricing opportunities, efficiencies and accuracy. Requirements Qualifications require: Bachelors degree in accounting-related field. A minimum of 5 years in accounting with 3 years of supervisory experience. Experience with spreadsheet and accounting software required. Working knowledge of FASB and general understanding of GAAP/tax regulations a plus.
