Spring 2010 Online Media Sales Intern

Description The Emmy Award winning WPIX-TV in New York City, a Tribune Broadcasting television station,and the flagship station of The CW Television Network, seeks an intern in Online Media Sales Department to assist the Interactive Sales Manager (ISM) in all areas of online sales and marketing. Intern will work closely with the ISM and be involved in all aspects of the online sales process including but not limited to: online market research through websites and search engines, attending select client/agency meetings, duties related to account management; marketing efforts to launch new sales programs or products; reporting and sales analytics; develop sales proposals, marketing materials, assist in execution on web based campaigns and use media research to develop sales arguments.

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be internet-savvy and have an interest in online advertising
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- High attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
- Extremely well organized and concise
- Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Basic to moderate Illustrator, PhotoShop knowledge
- Punctual and strong sense of urgency

Requirements The qualified intern must be enrolled in a parallel major as the internship is designed to provide hands-on experience as it relates to major course of study. The successful candidate will have applicable internship and/or volunteer experience. With proper documentation, the internship can be for credit, but is not necessary; a stipend will also be paid.
