RN Referral Rep, Nurses On-Call - PRN* - (Job Number: 9740-12992

Description HCA Midwest Division, the Midwest's largest system of healthcare providers, is seeking an On-Call RN Referral Representative for our Nurses On-Call department, HCA's Call Center.  This person may work shifts as necessary to cover for team members.  Located at Research Medical Center's Brookside Campus.
The Call Center Nurse Representative is responsible for marketing the services of participating HCA Midwest Division hospitals and affiliate partners to potential clients through telephone inquiries by providing appropriate nursing healthcare options and facilitating referrals to participating physicians, hospitals, services and community resources.
Responsible for providing callers with a telephone resource to the most appropriate healthcare service based on the urgency and acuity of their healthcare needs. Utilizing a computerized system of approved clinical protocols and health information, the Nurse Representative will assess, educate and advise patients and their family members on their health concerns, and provide safe, effective, and appropriate dispositions of care.

Requirements PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred, licensed in the state of Missouri

Five (5) years of emergency department experience, ambulatory nursing, critical care or medical / surgical nursing

Broad-based nursing experiences should include, but not limited to, obstetrics, pediatrics, newborn, and orthopedics

Previous telephone triage experience preferred

Knowledge of basic community services

Basic counseling skills

Basic typing skills, 30 wpm

Basic personal computer skills, Windows 98 preferred
