PDS Tech has an excellent opportunity for a skilled User Interface Designer for a 3 month contract position in the San Francisco, CA area. Selected candidates will have strong experience with consumer-facing aspects of messaging services for PC, Web and Mobile.   We are looking for someone who is an expert at employing new technologies to deliver compelling visual design systems for web applications. A portfolio of work showing design capability is required.


QUALIFICATIONS
1) Craft superior documentation to represent the company's vision around user experience, including: storyboards, schematics, style guides, movies, prototypes, etc.
2) Communicate, document, and represent designs to various groups
3) Provide industry-leading product design for assigned projects.
4) Develop architecture, interaction design, wire frames and software UI, around user needs and business requirements.
5) Provide consistency in product design, approach, and methodology
6) Collaborate on multiple projects and appropriately organize and manage assignments from concept to delivery.

Requirements Requirements
Bachelors or Master's degree in Interaction design or related subject.

At least three years experience carrying out interaction design for shipping software products or consumer web services

Demonstrates clear understanding of interaction design practices for product life-cycle including user requirements gathering, scenario building, task design, use of UI style and visual design guides, solving technology constraints, documenting designs for graphic production, localization and quality assurance.

Portfolio to show ability to solve complex design problems with example deliverables, for example wireframes of a design solution.

Skilled with tools like Visio, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Good appreciation of visual design principles.

Great communications skills for working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. Fluency in English, demonstrated in CV.

Familiarity with designing for mobile web environments and mobile phone applications

Experience designing for programs that use agile development methods.

Experience of designing and conducting usability studies.

Ability to apply visual design guidelines to create elegant visual designs - demonstrated in portfolio.
