Description SUMMARY OVERVIEW

We are seeking a MicroStrategy Professional for report and dashboard development. The candidate needs to be self-starter with ability to design and develop MicroStrategy reports. The selected indivdual must be able to work independently and as a team player with minimal supervision to effectively meet project deadlines.

The selected candidate should have at least 8 years of IT experience with 3+ years of hands-on development experience with MicroStrategy products (Version 9.Z is preferred).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SKILL REQUIREMENTS include the following:
  • Experience Required: 8+ years IT experience. 3+ years of Hands-on development experience with MicroStrategy products.
  • 4+ years of Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the MicroStrategy tool suite (I-Server, Architect, Desktop, Web, Narrowcast, OLAP Services and Report Services).
  • Strong report building skills. Must be able to generate Ad-Hoc queries and reports on OLTP and DW systems based on business requirements.
  • Strong SQL Skills and Query experience is required. Must be able to troubleshoot and provide support of the Data warehouse/ODS BI environment on MicroStrategy.
  • Strong Skills in HTML, CSS, XML
  • Experience with MS Sql-server, Oracle, MS Analysis Services (MSAS) are must
  • Experience with SAP BI highly desired
  • Experience in designing complex reports for Data marts and Ad-hoc reporting.
  • Certification and/or solid knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts preferred

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS include the following:
  • Provide technical advice, code reviews and assistance to other programmers.
  • With limited supervision, prepare test plans and/or detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written, they may be highly complex.
  • Write programs that interface with external systems and equipment.
  • Develop/ maintain computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data and information.
  • Write programs that involve multiple, complex screens, interfaces, tables and outputs.
  • Write complex, optimized data extracts, updates and interfaces.
  • Design and code basic screen functionality.
  • Interface with functional specialists to ensure solution design and integrity.
  • Understanding of complex table joins and advanced programming concepts.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems OR equivalent external work experience OR equivalent formal training in related duties. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision using PC monitor, and reading of a variety of materials.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area. Noise level in employee’s primary workstation is usually low to moderate.
