Position Summary:
The Certified Pharmacy Technician will support the pharmacy leadership team in a variety of pharmacy work areas. This individual will process prescriptions in a high volume environment in a manner that maximizes quality and patient safety, and duties include ensuring all prescriptions are processed within the desired turnaround cycle times as well as ensure that regulatory and system compliance are fully satisfied
Responsibilities:
Includes, but not limited to:
Assist pharmacists with prescription processing
Place doctor calls in a team calling environment
Adhere to and understand all company and regulatory requirements
Maintain efficiency while providing quality service to patients and clients
Identify problems and work with management to achieve a resolution
Additional Department Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:
Make necessary adjustments based on edits that come into the area
Backend Cancels:
Restart orders that were cancelled from the backend pharmacy
Prior Authorization:
Send information to the call center to obtain approvals
Turnaround:
Research and locate aging orders on the face-it report
Order Completion:
Entering and processing prescription drugs
Conducting quality checks during order completion
Doctor Call:
Calling prescribers and patients on approved orders to obtain additional information
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to utilize computer applications;
Knowledgeable of pharmacy state laws and regulations, including generic substitution laws;
Broad knowledge of medications;
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
Ability to understand and follow Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs);
Must be alert, focused, and detailed-oriented;
Ability to make sound decisions in a timely fashion;
Ability to make independent judgment;
Possess good interpersonal skills;
Ability to problem solve;
Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative;
Excellent customer-service skills; possess a customer first attitude.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated success in working with diverse populations.
National Technician Certification;
Current Texas State Board registration;
High School Diploma/GED.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Ability to walk, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred.
One year technician experience.
