Description POSITION SUMMARY (includes, but is not limited to):The Registered Nurse as an Emergency Room Nurse performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients.  Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice.  Supervises assigned personnel.  Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served.  Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.  Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedure.  Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment

Requirements Education:Graduate of a school of nursing required. License:Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada required. Accreditation:Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.ACLS and PALS or ENPC must be obtained within three (3) months of date of Hire/Transfer. Testing:Passes ER Competency exam with 80% accuracy Experience:Minimum of 2 years recent emergency nursing experience required. Minimum of 1 year critical care experience, and /or successfully completed a recognized critical care course.Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. PALS or ENPC preferred, and must be certified within 1 year of hire date. Proficiency in emergency nursing procedures and skills, including cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation required.Minimum of 2 years recent emergency nursing experience required. Minimum of 1 year critical care experience, and /or successfully completed a recognized critical care course.Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. PALS or ENPC preferred, and must be certified within 1 year of hire date.
