Job Description:  GENERAL FUNCTION:Primary responsibilities will include representing Fifth Third Bancorp and Fifth Third Bank in banking regulatory matters including examinations, branching, mergers and acquisitions, applications, reporting and compliance. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will work closely with other members of the Legal Department as well as member’s of the bank’s finance, external reporting, tax, accounting, commercial and other departments.

Requirements MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  •  At least 5 years of relevant experience with a law firm or financial institution handling bank regulatory matters
  •  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  •  Good ability to interface successfully with senior management
  •  Strong negotiation skills
  •  Strong knowledge of the areas of expertise including technical knowledge
  •  Strong issue spotting, risk assessment, and problem solving skills
  •  Extensive research skills
  •  Team building, leadership skills
  •  Admission to a state bar/J.D degree from accredited law school/College degree
