An excellent teaching hospital in Northern Florida, which boasts state of the art technology and an organized team oriented environment, has a very highly respected opening for a Director of Pharmacy.

Previous multi-site experience is required. The Director of Pharmacy Services is responsible for the overall operation and strategic planning for the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Director is accountable for assurance of quality pharmaceutical care throughout the hospital.

Essential Functions

Identifies resources and needs, in developing, allocating, administrating and
evaluating Pharmacy budget.

Evaluates and develops the coordinator and pharmacy staff with regard to supervision, budget development, skill mix, staff development and labor relations. The Pharmacy Director must also be able to establish administrative and budgetary priorities, set long and short range goals based on the development of health care trends that meet the specific needs of the institution.

Participates in the planning/development of hospital direction and goals to meet the communities needs and mission with the Administrative Conference.

Develops and monitors QI plan for the pharmacy, then assures the plan is reported to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and to the hospital improvement committee.

Determines selection of managers in conjunction with administration and collaborates
with managers in staff interviews and the hiring process.

Reviews disciplinary process and become involved with action when appropriate.

Fluent in hospital policies and procedures.
Experience: Health System experience with 5-7 yrs in a Directors position or experience as an Assistant Pharmacy Director in a large academic setting preferred. Administrative Pharmacy residency preferred. Must have functioned as a leader in hospital based Committees.

Education: Florida State Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist required or the ability to obtain one. Bachelors in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy with an additional Masters or Doctorate in healthcare administration or other related pharmacy field.
