The Accounting Supervisor supervises employees and functions of an accounting-related department or operation. (Accounting related functions might include one of or several of the following: accounts payable, account receivable, payroll, order scheduling, credit, and/or other general office functions.)
Oversees the classification and recording of routine accounting transactions. Provides guidance and direction on the more complex transactions and issues. Complies, or supervises the compiling of data, and prepares standard reports as required. Supervises the preparation of special analyses of the functional areas as required. Responsible for the accuracy and proper accounting/recording of data within the assigned functions. Assign work, set priorities, conducts performance reviews, and makes salary recommendations for employees supervised.
