QA Lead

Description Classification: Consulting

Compensation: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour

Robert Half Technology is partnering with a growing company in the Cincinnati area for a Lead Quality Assurance Analyst. The key responsibilities in this role are the development and execution of manual and automated tests and implementing and executing test strategies. Leading a team of 3-4 QA testers including some offshore.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases using test plans and functional specifications.
• Participate in all phases of the test cycle, including Integration/System Testing, Performance Testing, Regression Testing, User Acceptance Testing, etc.
• Perform both new functionality and regression tests and identify, analyze and report issues using standard defect tracking tools.
• Participate in software requirement, specification and design reviews.
• Create automated test scripts using Quick Test Professional tool.
• Execute manual and automated test cases and scripts.
• Analyze software designs in conjunction with the development team to ensure that all ramifications of the changes or additions have been discovered.
• Manage testing to test schedule and communicate testing progress.
• Able to keep test scripts up to date as the product change.
• Perform deliverables tracking and reporting as assigned.
• Able to test multiple products that are in development and/or released to market.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/information technology, a related field, or software test related experience/knowledge.
• Two to three years of software testing experience in a professional software development environment
• Work experience in Mercury (HP) test tools including Quick Test Professional and Quality Center.

Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
• Experience in testing web-based application software
• Knowledge of HTML and VB script required. Understanding of SQL and Oracle databases is a plus.
• Ability to write, maintain and execute automated test scripts.
• A positive, quality-oriented, reliable, organized, and flexible individual with an ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused, dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of software testing tools, including defect tracking software.
• A thorough understanding of the test phase of Software Development Life Cycle, knowledge of all phases of SDLC
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Strong technical writing skills being especially skilled at articulating to technical developers and non-technical account managers.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
