Job Description:
High School Diploma/GED Maryland Registered Pharmacy Technician Minimum of 6 months Summary:  This is a position for a pharmacy student working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.  Routine duties include IV additive sterile product preparation, unit dose dispensation, controlled substance distribution and drug accountability.  Specialized knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile product preparation standards, and federal, state and professional drug law and standards of practice is necessary.  Independent judgment in work prioritization is required.  A working knowledge of pharmaceutical products, product differentiation, and pharmacological effect is necessary.  He/she demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and follows guidelines as described in the department’s policies and procedures.   Required Education:  High School Education or equivalent.  Minimum of Six (6) months experience with the use of a computer terminal/microcomputer for data input/retrieval. Non Licensed Pharmacists – Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a five year college program in pharmacy or a six-year PharmD program.
