Mechanic- 2nd Shift

Description Martera Inc., a subsidiary of Pitt Ohio Express, a high service, highly profitable LTL carrier with over 20 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic area is seeking a Diesel Mechanic- 2nd Shift at our Pittsburgh, PA Terminal with tractor and trailer repair experience.

Our mechanics are responsible for performing all required maintenance functions on both our tractors and trailers. Mechanics may also be required to perform maintenance functions on various equipment used in our dock operations for example, forklifts and carts. Mechanics prepare local P&D and Linehaul units for safe dispatch. This may include performing pre-trip inspections, verifying validation of permits and fueling and cleaning of units. Mechanics may also be required to reconfigure equipment as needed; may be required to perform timely and efficient road-calls on disabled or damaged equipment.

Requirements Mechanics must have their own tools. Prior work experience in a truck shop or experience with engine rebuilding, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems and other system components. Class B CDL not required to start, but obtaining CDL is a condition of continued employment. A high school diploma or an equivalent is preferred for mechanic applicants. ASE certification a plus!
