  Field Support Technician supports the installation and operation of equipment at exhibitors.  The candidate must have knowledge of the exhibition industry and deep knowledge of software and hardware and interconnectivity related to digital cinema.
 
The candidate must be able to identify and establish network connections to gaming devices, projectors and various other equipment pieces.   Must have experience with installation, start-ups, maintenance/repair, and troubleshooting of various digital cinema systems. Candidates must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with customers both over the phone and in person. This position requires the ability to develop excellent rapport with customers.  Individual will perform quality assurance testing and support on POS systems, back office system, etc. and will be required to test and identify and isolate trouble both client and internal hardware and software, along with applications. .  Duties require an accurate and methodical approach to testing as well as a very focused and detailed attention.  This position will be required to use checklists to verify compliance to exhibitor specifications.
 
This position requires an organized, detail-oriented individual with solid verbal and written communication skills.  Individual must be capable of working in a fast-paced, small team environment with hard deadlines. Individual will need to make frequent "subjective" decisions as part of their daily function (e.g. determining the "severity rating" for quality defects, determining which defects are acceptable, etc.)

Requirements
  • Associate degree in computer science, electronics, software and applications or equivilent years of directly related experience
  • 4-6 years experience in exhibition industry including 2-3 years in digital cinema
  • Excellent software and application management skills
  • Excellent networking skills in support integrated theater operations
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Experience in working with customer, strong intra-personal skills
  • High degree of travel required- 60-70%, potential including international travel as well as domestic travel
 
Field Service Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of console gaming (Playstation), concert industry and sports broadcasting a plus.
  • Requirement to understand and be able to perform DCI specification tests.
  • Requirement to understand and be able to align and trouble shoot projection systems.
  • Requirement to understand and be able to align and trouble shoot 3D systems
  • Ability to manage 3rd party integrators, service and testing/compliance entities.
  • Knowledge of DCP mastering processes and encryption technologies.
  • Knowledge of satellite delivery technologies
