Master Production Planner / Scheduler
About the Job
The Master Production Planner / Scheduler will support manufacturing and will act as a liaison between the Production, Engineering, Sales/Marketing, and Materials departments. This position will be responsible for performing capacity analysis, creating and maintaining the master production schedule in SAP based on a review of customer orders and forecasted requirements. This position will also be responsible for developing and enhancing tools for improving the planning and inventory control processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Review monthly sales forecast in SAP. Analyze the components of demand and prepare reports and graphs required for the monthly operations meeting.
- Analyze the results of the production plan and optimize to mitigate high risk areas.
- Coordinate production lines and business units to appropriately balance supply of components for end products.
- Commit orders based on available capacity and materials and identify opportunities to maximize on-time delivery.
- Create and manage the internal work orders needed to meet customer demand, operational objectives, and business goals.
- Identify key bottleneck areas and recommend solutions to alleviate issues.
- Create production plans to drive operational efficiency while meeting established inventory levels.
- Analyze Excess and Obsolescence (E&O) and assist in other financial analysis as required.
- Enhance production planning and inventory control tools and resolve ERP system issues as needed.
- Act as a Manufacturing liaison to Sales/Customer Service for expedites and shipment commitments.
- Work closely with the Buyer / Planners and the Purchasing department to ensure raw materials support of the production plan and provide timely feedback to Sales/Marketing for any deviation from original expectation.
- Manage inventory levels at all three stages of goods, (raw, wip and finished) and report against established goals.
- Assist in the generation of annual operations plan.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (MBA is a plus)
- 5-10 years of experience of production planning in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead and facilitate system and process improvement projects
- SAP experience preferable
- High attention to detail while maintaining a big picture perspective
- Strong communication skills preferred.
- Highly self motivated, flexible to manage several tasks, organized, and an excellent team player.
- Management experience is a plus
