About the Job
The selected Web Services Developer will develop web services to retrieve claim information by querying existing DB2 database and returning information to the application. These services will be developed using both Java and .NET tools.
What is expected from the Web Services Developer
Candidates must have experience with Java (a minimum 3-5 years is preferred) along with Apache AXIS web services. They also must have expertise with .Net / C# and Java and .Net/WCF interoperability. Relational database / SQL and Visual Studio 2008 skills are also expected. Eclipse / RAD 7.0 and Team Foundation Server are preferred skills. Candidates must have excellent coding and unit testing skills. Experience with health insurance a plus.
Beyond technical skill, they must be able to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise way verbally and in documentation to effectively communicate across functional departments. They should be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through with the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment. They should be energetic, driven and committed to project success while working under tight time constraints and pressure.
A Bachelor degree in computer science or software engineering, preferably with an emphasis on business applications is strongly preferred.
