Description Basic Function:
Responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in administering and directing sales / business developments, marketing and operations of the branch.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the day-to-day management of branch operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with operational and security policies. Provide guidance and training to branch personnel on operating problems, handling of exceptions, adjustments, and sales. Maximize loan and deposit accounts by developing new business as well as maintaining present customers through a directed market plan and sales call program. Make 20-30 portfolio profile update calls weekly. Assist in conducting weekly sales meetings with all branch sales staff. Ensure fast, courteous and efficient customer service. Project a positive image of M&T Bank within the community through involvement in local organizations. Supervise all branch operations in absence of Branch Manager. Confer and participate with Branch Manager in resolving personnel problems, including hiring, scheduling of employment hours, and performance rating.This position reports the Branch Manager in generally a Tier 3, 4 or 5 office and has a sound working knowledge of the Branch Manager's responsibilities in order to act as back-up during the manager's absence. The position is also responsible for making sound and timely decisions relative to accepted standards of customer service, work flows, and the implementation of new procedures. The incumbent must be knowledgeable with all M&T products and foster staff knowledge of the various products offered.Responsible for managing a staff of three of more individuals in regards to the operations of the branch.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or in lieu of degree, minimum one year relevant retail experience. Minimum one year managerial experience or demonstrated leadership ability. Minimum two years' sales experience with degree or three years' sales experience without degree. Series 6/63/Insurance Licenses. Familiarity with personal computer software and the various branch mainframe systems. Self-motivated, well-organized individual. Demonstrated business development experience and success. Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate and function professionally with all levels of personnel and to use tact and diplomacy.
