Description Job Summary: Provides primary healthcare for clients of all ages, in accordance with standards and requirements set forth by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, and in collaboration with clinic physicians.
Essential Duties:
  • Assesses clients at an advanced level, identifies health status including abnormal conditions, establishes a diagnosis, develops and implements treatment plans and evaluates client outcomes.
  • Performs procedures in which he/she has knowledge and expertise.
  • Uses advanced knowledge and skills in teaching and guiding clients and other health team members.
  • Uses critical thinking and decision making at an advanced level, commensurate with the autonomy, authority and responsibility of his/her licensure.
  • Recognizes his/her limits of knowledge and experience, planning for situations beyond his/her expertise, and collaborating with or referring to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Retains professional responsibility for advanced practice nursing care when delegating interventions.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills in the Family Nurse Practitioner field.
  • Prescribes legend drugs, therapeutic devises and controlled substances (Schedules III-V) as permitted under Arkansas law, in accordance with written protocols and collaborative practice agreement.
  • Receives and distributes sample drugs and therapeutic devices in accordance with State and Federal Law.
  • Manages the care of and gives direct patient care according to established protocols/guidelines.

 

Requirements Education:
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or other education and experience allowing licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.  National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Eligible for Certificate of Prescriptive Authority.  Eligible for DEA registration.  Must also maintain licensure as a Registered NurseGraduate from a NLN accredited School of Nursing.

 

Experience:
  • 1-2 years experience in patient care.
License/Certification:
  • Licensed as an APN in state of Arkansas.
  • BLS required.
