Description PRO/E - CAD - Pre-sales Engineer.

This role involves working with the North American PTC Education sales team who supports technical functions with the internal goal of driving revenue and adoption by assisting our customers with utilizing and expanding their use of our products. While supporting traditional educational sales campaigns, this position will work primarily on three strategic programs; Department of Defense Starbase, Real World Design Challenge and FIRST.

The Application Engineer is an intermediate level technical specialist who should be capable of handling more challenging projects and customer situations. These include the technical execution of "events" such as small custom demonstrations, benchmarks, proof of concepts, etc. and additional customer facing activities. In the execution of all of these activities, the Application Engineer is capable of being more autonomous and requires less guidance from more tenured Specialists and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support the following types of sales activities:
- Customer meetings
- Deliver standard demonstrations in person and over the Internet
- Deliver small to mid-size custom demonstrations
- Lead Technical Specialist on small validation events
- Drive Social Product Development programs in institutions
- Manage all the technical aspects of key North American Education programs; including Starbase, Real World Design Challenge and FIRST
- Lead with basic hands-on workshops for the educational community
- Conduct Training sessions on desktop applications
- Active support in Sales Representative Advice Line, etc.
- Capable of taking ownership of small custom projects and manage, organize, and prepare all of the necessary functions of the project with supervision from tenured Specialists.
- Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and adoption set forth by management

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in an engineering, computers, software discipline
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of Technical Sales

Preferred Qualifications:
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and learn quickly
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- The ability to travel as much as 30% to 50% of the time (this will vary from month to month). Such travel may occur over weekend or other traditional non-business days.
- Track record of success within a team oriented environment
- Adaptable in rapidly changing environments
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
