Vehicle Mechanic
Honolulu International Airport
P/T position. Duties to include maintaining and servicing refueling vehicles and auxiliary systems. Must have own tools, CDL preferred. Drug screening required.
Ensure that all procedures specified in standard operating procedural documents are clearly understood and followed.
Perform day to day maintenance of equipment, such as checking, draining and/or replenishing fluids, lubricants, fuels and battery charge levels and inspecting, repairing and balancing tires.
Provide support for efficient and timely service, maintenance and repairs of ground service equipment.

Requirements
Physically capable of performing the essential job duties.
Knowledgeable of and compliance with all safety and standard operating procedures.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Operation Area permit, Airport Motor Vehicle Operator's permit, U.S. Customs security clearance and a current Hawaii State Driver's License. Successfully obtain and maintain a CDL with endorsements within 90 days.
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED. One year previous related paid work experience or two years related trade school experience. Mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools. Good mathematical skills to apply concepts using fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to read and understand common technical manuals pertaining to equipment maintenance and electrical and piping schematic diagrams. Good oral and written English communication skills. Must be organized, self-motivated and be able to work independently of direct supervision.
Must be able to clearly speak and hear.
Required to use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and hands and arms to reach, hold and carry.
Required to stand, walk, sit, reach and climb and occasionally required to bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds in the ongoing course of daily activities.
Required to work in areas where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and operations are frequently outdoors exposed to the elements of weather.
