To ensure 100% EHS compliance by effectively managing permits, applicable regulatory requirements and PSC company policies and programs. Provide support, guidance and 'correction with conviction' to Operations in order to facilitate 100% compliance. Be best in class regarding EHS performance and a model to the industry. Be 'audit and open house ready' at all times! Enhance communications between EHS/Materials Management and Operations so as to drive a unified culture regarding 100% EHS compliance.
-Accompany Operations on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly inspections required by permits and regulations.
-Perform inspections with the eye of a regulator every day, calling out every exception from the minutest drum spacing or paperwork errors to the most egregious monitoring equipment failures.
-Become a photo-documentarian for same, and share findings with Operations and peers on a routine basis.
-Engage operations, establish and maintain credibility, and be a facilitator and enforcer of 100% compliance against the requirements of all applicable rules and permits.
-Accompany regulators or customers through their operations.
-Ensure that conditions in all environmental permits are being complied with and all deadlines imposed by permit conditions are being met.
-Read and understand and internalize the permits (and all applicable rules) for a facility. (RCRA, EPA, PHMSA, OSHA, Fire, DOT in particular.)
-Review monthly training records for PSC employees.
-Facilitate monthly safety meetings.
-Address and close internal audit, client audit and regulatory agency findings, and incident corrective actions within established deadlines.
-Ensure timely reporting of emissions and release events in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies/procedures.
-Ensure that Operations is conducting post incident/accident alcohol and drug testing in accordance with PSC policy.
-Ensure that all plans (e.g., Emergency Response, Contingency, SPCC, State Equivalent Plans) are maintained up to date and that measures are in place to ensure that all requirements of such plans are being executed.
-Ensure timely and accurate reporting for SARA Tier IIs, TRI, annual/bi-ennial hazardous waste reports and similar regulatory-required reports.
-Maintain and improve working relationships between PSC, external agencies, and internal departments, such as Sales, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Legal.
-Effectively promote and communicate EHS awareness throughout Operations. This will include, but not be limited to, participation in Operations staff meetings, participation in planned training sessions, participation on Safety Committees, and presentation of EHS KPIs/metrics in coordination with facility management.
-Work with Plant Management to ensure that waste consolidation activities and outbound shipping loads are driven off of a ‘pick-list' to the primary outbound outlet and the waste is packaged in proper containers that are compliant, safe and maximize disposal cost savings.
-The MM professional should be able to use the knowledge of the permits in order to assign the material profile to a process code and to an outbound profile. If an outbound profile does not exist for disposal, the MM professional will have the knowledge and ability to write a waste profile into the appropriate ultimate disposal facility.

• 40 Hour OSHA trained and certification current

• 5+ years experience in environmental/waste management industry;
• 2+ years experience in employee training;
