The Clinical Case Manager is responsible for the management of services of detained male youth in a residential setting, works with the Court and may attend Court hearings. This position works directly with the youth, the family and the County or State workers utilizing a “strength based" approach in the assessment, planning and treatment stages with the youth and the family. Responsibilities include engaging family and identified supports, completing reports, coordinating comprehensive treatment services, facilitating psycho-educational and support groups, and working with the youth, family, Treatment Team and adjunct workers to achieve identified goals.
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services field, with two years experience in residential treatment setting. It is highly desirable that this person has group work experience with behavior management, experiance working with a CI population and at least two years of institution/residential experience.
The person in this position should be able to meet State Licensing Standards, and should be able to be registered as a Social Worker or Limited License Psychologist. This position also requires a valid Michigan Drivers License and a working telephone or cell phone.
Must meet the following requirements: possess a valid State of Michigan Drivers License. Must complete and return a record of no findings on the FIA Central Registry Clearance, criminal history background check free of felony convictions, physical examination which indicates satisfactory health status free from communicable diseases including TB. Must have reliable transportation.
Experience:
Experience in direct treatment services including residential treatment, preference given to candidates with experience in Sex Offender Treatment, casework, group work and behavior modification process.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and application of person-centered planning;
Knowledge of strength based/solution focused assessments and therapy;
Thorough knowledge of family centered assessments and treatment planning;
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to administer standardized assessment tools for a wide variety of settings and clients;
Expert knowledge base of applied research methods and the ability to oversee and/or to conduct research.
Ability to provide clinical consultation in a variety of treatment settings; knowledge
Knowledge of treatment theory and applied techniques, supervision and community agency functions;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Individuals in this classification have successfully demonstrated capabilities in group work, family therapy, and clinical social work. This position is direct service and consultative in nature.
