Description Data Conversion Technical Analyst
Mid-Level Mid-Level: 5-7 years of experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
A Large System Intergrator will develop data conversion routines and scripts to migrate the financial management assets of a large Federal agency within the U.S. Government from the agency's legacy mainframe based Federal Financial System (FFS) to the Momentum Financials application for Defense and Federal agencies. We are looking for candidates with strong development skills and the desire to advance their skills in a challenging environment to help design and build these conversion routines and scripts and execute them to convert the financial data from FFS to Momentum.

Responsibilities include:
Understand the Migration Requirements,
Work with Business Analysts to help analyze the data migration requirements and formulate sound strategy in implementing them,
Work with Technical Analysts/Programmer Analyst staff to translate the requirements into a sound design,
Confgure, tailor, or extend existing data migration/conversion scripts/processes. Where necessary build, test and document sound data migration code and scripts,
Support system and acceptance testing activities, and resolve issues in timely manner.
Support production data migration,
Support preparation of required documentation, as required by the customer,
Mentor and train junior staff by sharing best practices and lessons learned from past implementation efforts.
Candidate might identify process improvement opportunities

Required Qualifications:
Five to seven years of experience in software development including a strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL.
Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
Candidate should exhibit a superior degree of discretion and autonomy.
Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in Computer Science, MIS or related field and and five to seven years of related experience

Desired Skills:
Two or more years of experience in data conversion efforts strongly preferred.
Previous experience with FFS or Momentum Financials will be a plus.
Experience in building or maintaining applications on IBM mainframes that used COBOL, SAS, CICS, VSAM, JCL, VSAM will be a plus.
Previous experience in converting financial management systems for government agencies will be a plus.
