Warehouse/Distribution Center Supervisor

Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising the distribution activities and staff in Shipping, Picking, Receiving, or Quality Control.

The Warehouse Supervisor is expected to establish and meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service.

  • Will supervise the distribution activities in Shipping, Picking, and Receiving; including but not limited to receipt and shipment of products and/or orders, overseeing product availability, processing of orders, inventory accuracy, and pick issues.
  • Oversee assigned department for continual process flow, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Will assist in identifying operational problems and implementing solutions.
  • Will supervise hourly staff assigned to a particular department including but not limited to training, monitoring performance and progress, employee relation issues, coordinating the daily work activities for direct staff, and realigning staffing needs when necessary.
  • Will motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure all productivity, safety, and quality goals are met.
  • Maintain company-employee communication operations staff on a daily basis in pre-shift and post-break meetings, or other formal or informal group meetings.
  • Will produce regular reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service.
  • Will uphold and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Will enforce all corporate and site specific policies and practices to ensure fair and consistent administration.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
     

 

Job Requirements

*Must have a high school diploma or GED.
*A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
*At least 1-3 years of relevant 3PL work experience and/or other training; will consider an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
*Prior leadership experience is preferred.
*Prior experience working in a safety conscious 3PL Distribution environment is preferred.
*Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
*Must have experience working on a PC and using Microsoft Office programs.

*Good working knowledge in warehousing.
*Ability to pass site specific forklift certifications.
*Ability to follow established procedures and instructions.
*Lead team members in meeting goals and objectives.
*Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
*Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
*Have strong interpersonal skills.
*Able to develop a positive rapport and maintain strong working relations with every level in the organization, including all internal and external customers.
*Strong planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
*Able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
*Able to develop staff through example, training, delegation, mentoring, and empowering associates at all levels.
*Able to adapt to change and work in a fast-pace environment.
