Business Unit Rexnord Aerospace is a growing and profitable company supplying engineered high performance bearings and mechanical seals to the commercial air transport, regional aircraft, business aircraft, helicopter and military aircraft markets for use in engine systems, flight control systems, airframe structures and landing gear systems. Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEM’s, as well as major Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEM’s and through our FAA approved repair station we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities Brief Description Successful candidate will lead the Purchasing Team including Purchasing, Outside Manufacturing, Outside Processing, Shipping & Receiving, and Inventory Control. This position is located in Simi Valley, CA. Key Accountabilities Manage purchasing, outside services procurement and logistics departments personnel Complete ownership of the Purchased Services chain including strategic development and tactical execution Define overall purchasing needs and develop new and existing sources Create and enforce contracts to support Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives Manage asset utilization through maximizing inventory turns Partner with key suppliers on win-win initiatives to support lean Value Stream (including Value-Engineering, payment term changes, T&L options, etc…) Own make vs. buy (in-sourcing/out-sourcing) decisions to support overall business needs Drive lean (RBS) initiatives throughout the supplier chain Develop strategy to attain annual PPV goals without sacrificing quality or delivery Develop and maintain supplier scorecard process (PPM, OTD, PPV) to provide dynamic feedback on performance, and drive improvement plans Manage supplier base that includes raw commodity procurement, outside machining, outside processing as well as service providers Job Requirements Job Requirements, Capabilities and Success Factors Bachelor’s degree minimum, MBA preferred 7-10 years of leadership experience in Purchasing Management position including logistics, preferably in low volume high mix environment Strong leadership in lean environment, organizational and decision making skills Capable to work under pressure, in tight schedule and in a rapidly changing environment Capable of managing and delegating multiple priorities successfully Contract negotiation skills Ability to think strategically and tactically Excellent written and verbal communication, computer skills and interpersonal skills Experience in metal machining tight tolerance environment. Aerospace manufacturing experience is a plus.
