Junior Financial Consultant / Advisor

Western Federal Credit Union is seeking a Junior Financial Consultant.  This is an entry level position in which the ideal candidate will assist Financial Consultants and be trained to counsel members and sell financial products and services for investment purposes.
Responsibilities include:
  • Helps identify potential clients/customers using advertising campaigns, mailing lists, personal contacts, referrals, in-branch promotions, and seminars.
  • Assists with interviewing clients/customers to determine financial position, resources, assets available to invest, and financial goals.
  • Will be trained on counseling clients on purchase or sale of securities, financial services, investment, and insurance plans.
  • Maintains strict adherence to regulatory rules of conduct and the highest ethical standards.
  • Understands, and stays current of, broker dealer operations and record keeping requirements. 
  • Assists with analyzing status reports and performing calculations to monitor client accounts and verify transactions.
  • Learning about quality, value-added financial products and services that are offered to our membership.
  • Refers clients/members to appropriate Credit Union personnel for other Credit Union products and services such as credit cards, auto loans, Term Share Certificates, etc.

Job Requirements

Western seeks motivated individuals with a passion for delivering superior service and contributing to a team environment.
Requirements include:
  • Completes all required licensing and continuing education requirements.
  • Must have the ability and desire to obtain a Series 7 and 63 Securities Registration
  • Must have the ability and desire to obtain a State of California Life and Health Insurance License
  • Financial product sales experience helpful
  • High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred
