Job Description

Responsible for appropriate management of FSE trunk inventory and FSE-TSR-Customer defective inventory to ensure overall optimization of this inventory.  Important factors to be considered are to ensure that FSE’s have the inventory they need for service activities, thus avoiding expensive code one inventory orders and additional customer downtime.  Equally important is to ensure that FSE’s are carrying the trunk inventory they need when they need it while ensuring trunk inventory is not excessive.  Also responsible for monitoring and expediting defective inventory from FSE’s, TSR’s and customers.  Will be asked to perform transactions related to organizing and optimizing inventory.

 


•     Monitors actual FSE per product trunk inventory and historical usage of that inventory to appropriately plan FSE inventory to be ordered, shipped and received by FSE’s in a “just in time” manner in order to optimize trunk inventory usage.


•     Monitors and expedites return of defective inventory from Field Operations and Customer Technical Support.  May be called upon to communicate with customers directly regarding overdue inventory at their site.


•     Works with Finance to report on and recommend inventory strategies, tactics and material disposition as required.


•     Responsible for coordinating with Product Technical Support, the Repair Center, Field Operations and Manufacturing as required to ensure FSE per product trunk stock inventory and consumable lists are up to date at each fiscal year start.


•    Uses inventory planning tools, as well as generates and distributes inventory reports used to ensure optimal inventory management .


•     Responsible for overseeing and providing guidance with field based inventory audits or cycle counts.


•     May assist in the design of reports intended to monitor and/or improve inventory management efficiency.


•     Assists with Dispatch Team with service report closure to ensure reports are closed quickly and that any service reports that are problematic with regard to closure are investigated and resolved to ensure timely inventory transactions, revenue recognition and expense recognition.


•    Works with Field Operations and Customer Technical Support as required to perform inventory transfer transactions.

  • Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements.  Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work.  Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.

  • Promotes a safe work environment.  May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.  Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs.  Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified.  Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

 

BS/BA and five to seven years experience within a Service operations environment.

 

Knowledge and Skills

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent organizational skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must work well with teams and be capable of leading team members from various functional disciplines on small projects

Excellent analytical problem solving skills

Experience with service inventory planning

Experience with SAP

APICS certification desired
