SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Job Description

Leading company in the Irvine area with over a billion dollars in revenue has immediate need in their finance department for a Senior Financial Analyst.

This business is experiencing consistent growth and the position is open due to promotion.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working under general supervision, supports the development and implementation of the Strategic and Operating Plan.
  • Performs moderately complex analysis and review of operating results.
  • Supports the financial evaluation of projects to assure adherence to financial objectives.
  • Recommends, interprets and implements specific corporate policies and procedures to accomplish assignments; resolves a broad range of issues and problems by streamlining and automating whenever possible.
  • Supports department director during the Strategic and Operating planning processes and quarterly forecasts.
  • Meets with department management to review operating results and prepare forecasts. 
  • Analyzes actual operating results compared to Plan and forecast and verifies, investigates and quantifies variances and their impact.
  • Performs Return on Investment Analysis for capital expenditures as necessary to assure the appropriate financial return to the Company. Other financial modeling duties may include DCF and NPV.
  • Maintains relevant databases to consolidate, analyze and communicate forecasts.
  • Participates on special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Prepares weekly sales reports. 
  • Job Requirements

    ·         5 or more years financial analysis experience in a large corporate setting
    ·         Strong general finance skills in analysis, financial modeling, and analyzing key performance indicators required
    ·         Strong process improvement skills preferred
    ·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related.  MBA a plus. 

    ·         Large company or business unit experience preferred

    ·         Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    ·         Requires advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills and some experience with a major ERP system

    ·         Must be pleasant, confidant, outgoing, friendly and able to work in an environment that supports a diversity of cultures – in other words, you have to be nice and easy going.
