Machining Supervisor – medical, CNC machining, plan, schedule, leadership

 

A division of a major medical device corporation located in the Houston Texas area and offering relocation, is growing and expanding.  This division produces high quality precision surgical instruments.  They have continued to invest in state of the art CNC machine tools. We are searching for highly technical candidates with strong machining skills and leadership skills.  We are looking for candidates who have worked in a regulated environment requiring quality and part traceability.  Interested candidates should come from a medial, aerospace, nuclear, department of defense and/or automotive environment.  Candidates will need strong documentation, planning, scheduling, follow up and communication skills.  The Machining Supervisor will schedule machine plan throughput, assign work, track production, ensure procedures, track/monitor production metrics, maintain employee records and ensure delivery.  Past experience monitoring customer requirements, real time production data, metrics and throughput is needed.  This department has 3 axis machining centers / mills, multi axis CNC lathes and swiss turn CNC lathes.  We are searching for hands on technical CNC machining skills.  Interested candidates will need a good understanding feeds, speeds, surface finish, cutting tool applications and the ability to read CNC code.  This position requires the ability to work closely with machinists to resolve production issues.  Knowledge of quality measuring hands tools and gauges is needed.  The ideal candidates will come from a fast paced environment and have the ability to change and adapt.  We are searching for high energy motivated and promotable candidates.

 

MUST HAVE:  5 years of experience managing a multi axis CNC machining department and strong planning skills.  Candidates with an Associates or Bachelors degree are preferred, however, not required.  Past hands on CNC machining and cutting tool experience is needed, CNC programming or editing is a huge plus.  Experience documenting production data, metrics and employee records is required.  The ideal candidate will need strong problem solving skills and experience developing action plans.
