Description

Therapists conduct professional mental health assessments and provide case management and psychotherapeutic services; and performs related activities for all age group populations and their family members in outpatient mental health care settings using the recovery model of practice.

 

This position requires knowledge of the current methods of clinical interviewing and assessment; conduct individual, family, and group counseling; general psychiatric emergency intervention, diagnosis, and therapeutic methods; principles and theories of adult and child psychology; and laws and regulations as applied to patients' rights including treatment and commitment criteria. Also required is the ability to accurately assess client mental status using established diagnostic criteria; formulate appropriate and effective treatment plans and monitor client progress toward treatment objectives; quickly and concisely analyze crisis situations in order to facilitate appropriate treatment or referral; evaluate patients for medication referrals; maintain the confidentiality of client information; write and interpret written information accurately and effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, the public, and representatives of public and private agencies.

Requirements

Psychiatric Social Worker I - ($4,443.09 - $5,519.73 monthly)

Psychiatric Social Worker I - (Spanish Speaking) 

 

Minimum Requirements:

A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, including supervised field work experience in psychiatric social work - OR - A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year's experience in psychiatric, medical, family, or child welfare social work involving problems of mental or emotional adjustment and the use of psychiatric consultation. 

 

Licenses:

License as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. A waiver for a newly trained Clinical Social Worker to become licensed shall not exceed six years' from commencement of employment in California. A waiver for an out-of-state Clinical Social Worker to become licensed shall not exceed one year from the date of employment in California.

 

 

Psychiatric Social Worker II - ($5,088.73 - $6,321.73 monthly)

Psychiatric Social Worker II - (Spanish Speaking)

 

Minimum Requirements:

A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, including supervised field work experience in psychiatric social work followed by two years social work experience in a recognized social service agency, clinic, hospital or public health agency involving problems of mental or emotional adjustment and the use of psychiatric consultation, one year of which must have been in a mental health setting in a hospital, clinic, or day treatment center. One additional year of the required experience will be accepted for the supervised fieldwork.

 

Licenses:

License as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. A California Class C Driver License may be required.

 

Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker - ($5,685.36 - $7,063.09 monthly)

 

Minimum Requirements:

A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work including supervised field work experience in psychiatric social work and four years social work experience in a recognized social service agency, clinic, hospital, or public health agency involving problems of mental or emotional adjustment and the use of psychiatric consultation, two years' of which must have been in a psychiatric hospital, clinic, or day treatment center. One additional year of the required experience will be accepted for the supervised fieldwork.

 

Licenses: 

License as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners and a California Class C Driver License.

 


Psychiatric Social Work Consultant - ($5,281 - $6,213.82)

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, including supervised field work experience in psychiatric social work -AND- four years' professional social work experience in a recognized social service agency, clinic, hospital, or public health agency involving problems of mental or emotional adjustment and the use of psychiatric consultation. Two years of the experience must have been in a mental health setting in a hospital, clinic, or day treatment center; one year of which must have been in an independent capacity at the level of Psychiatric Social Worker II performing work which included providing mental health consultation. One additional year of the required experience will be accepted for the supervised fieldwork.

License as a Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.




 

 

  

Mental Health Clinician I - ($4,208.45 - $5,519.73 monthly)

 

Minimum Requirements:

Valid registration number as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences. Work is performed in accordance with the requirements as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern within the limits of agency guidelines, licensing, and professional standards with certain decisions and actions requiring the approval of licensed staff. Incumbents in the class are required to progress to obtain licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist within six years of initial registration.

 

Mental Health Clinician II - ($4,565.36 - $5,987.91 monthly)

 

Minimum Requirements:

A current valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Marriage Family and Child Counselor) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
