We are a diversified group within AAI that works all these areas (everything on the ground) for the Department of Defense. We create the ground control stations for unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), from hand helds to global orbiters, unmanned ground vehicles, and unmanned surface (sea) vehicles. We collect, exploit and redistribute state of the art payload product, i.e.video (MPEG, HD and KLV), SAR and GMTI. The UAVs are now being loaded with weapons and all aspects of Air Worthiness, range safety and information assurance must be evaluated and adhered to. We also work on all the requirements management and a wide range of additional support areas for the entire UAV systems. We have openings in all areas. Are you ready for a change for the better? As an expert practitioner of systems engineering for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems business group, you will supervise and/or perform product engineering and systems engineering at the subsystem and system level of design on proposals and projects. Systems engineering activities will include: supervision and/or development of systems engineering project plans, performing as a cost account manager for systems engineering work packages on several or large efforts, supervise and/or lead the preparation of project requirements analysis and systems design documentation reports, and leading the planning and conduct of hardware/software integration and test. Test support may include factory and flight line locations.

Required Skills
Demonstrated skills include: effective written and oral communications, working in groups, effectively direct others, conduct functional analysis, develop system design descriptions, define concept of operations, and lead medium size (5-10) groups, develop systems design solutions, define system and subsystem architectures, create and maintain interface specifications, develop performance specifications, write subcontractor statements of work and develop junior staff. Has demonstrated proficiency using MS Office, MATLAB, Visio, DOORS and UML Modeling.
Required Experience
Bachelors Degree from an accredited school in Engineering, Physics or degree related discipline. Graduate degree from an accredited school in engineering preferred. Systems design experience for computer controlled electro-mechanical system. Aviation and/or military equipment development experience desired. Experienced with technologies, integration and test of unmanned systems, aircraft systems and computerized control stations. Experienced with systems engineering principles and tools for defining and controlling complex developments. Experience with design for standards such as Mil-Std-810, Mil-Std-461 and DO-178.Â
