Description
Big-company reach, small-company attitude! AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer III. As practitioner of systems engineering for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems business unit, will supervise and/or perform systems engineering activities at the subsystem and system level of design on proposals and projects. Systems engineering activities will include: develop system project plans, performing as a cost account manager for systems engineering work packages on small and medium size efforts, leading the preparation of project requirements analysis and systems design documentation reports, and planning and participation in hardware/software integration and test. Test support may include factory and flight line locations. Rotorcraft expertise is highly desirable.

Requirements
Required Skills
Demonstrated skills include: effective written and oral communications, working in groups, work independently, effective ability to organize and prioritize tasks, write testable requirements, conduct trade studies, develop performance models, prepare and present design reviews, conduct functional analysis, develop system design descriptions, define concept of operations, and lead small size (3-5) groups. Has demonstrated proficiency using MS Office, MATLAB, Visio, DOORS and UML Modeling.
Required Experience
System design experience for computer control electro-mechanical system. Aviation and/or military equipment development experience desired. Experienced with technologies and integration of unmanned systems, aircraft systems and computerized control stations. Experienced with systems engineering principles and tools for defining and controlling complex developments.
Design experience with mach-scaled wind tunnel rotor and drive systems, scaled rotor design, helicopter performance predictions, airframe aerodynamic design, experience with CAMRAD, Myklestad similar aeroelastic codes helpful, familiar with composite design details, UAV design and development experience is a plus.
Note: All candidates must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
